• Chris dislikes having to obey his parents while in high school

  • During college Chris learns of his father's affair with Billie

  • Chris' death in Alaska

  • Gallien drops Chris off at the Stampede Trail

  • Six hunters find Chris' body on the bus

  • Krakauer and his friends visit the bus a year after his death

  • After wasting the moose he has a "rebirth" experience (p.168)

  • Gives his savings away to charity

  • Comes back to get his buried belongings at Detrital Wash

  • Almost drowns after a storm hits while resting on a sandbar

I think when Chris learns that his dad had an affair and it was his mom, it was a huge turning point in his life that caused his to change completely. After Chris wastes the moose and has a "rebirth" was a huge point in his life too when he found almost the purpose to what he was looking for in himself. His death was a huge significance because without it, Krakaur probably would of never been interested in his life.
